A river town and a factory town. We build for both.

West Point sits at the south end of the lake and the north end of Kia. We do lake homes on the water, residential remodels in the historic district, and the kind of commercial work that keeps a manufacturing economy moving.

Plate I. Screened porch addition on a West Point Lake home, framed for year round use, mahogany decking, copper trim. Materials selected for humidity. Completed October 2025.

A note on the lake

Lake water is hard on framing, hardware, and finishes. We have spent years learning what holds up at this latitude and what does not. The cheap option is rarely the cheap option after three summers.

No. 03 · What we do here

Five categories of West Point work.

Three contractors said the porch could not be screened year round on the lake side. Tommy framed it twice as deep, vented the soffit right, and we use it from January to December. The wood looks better in year three than the day they left.

No. 05 · West Point FAQ

What people on the south end of the lake ask first.

Do you work across the river in Alabama?

Yes. We routinely take Chambers County jobs in Lanett and Fairfax. Different permit office, same crew, same response window. We have built relationships with the inspectors on both sides.

Lake home, do you spec for moisture?

Yes. We pick framing, fasteners, exterior finishes, and decking specifically for lake exposure. Stainless instead of galvanized. Cedar or mahogany on visible exterior. Sealed bottom plates. We tell you up front what costs more and why.

Can you handle the lake authority on dock work?

Yes. We pull the dock permits where required and we know the rules on the West Point Lake side. We are not in the business of selling you something the lake authority will reject.

Do you do small jobs in West Point?

Yes. Drywall patches, door alignment, deck repair, single room paint. Picked up between larger jobs, usually within the week.

Commercial buildouts in West Point, who is your typical client?

Property owners on Highway 29, restaurant owners on 3rd Avenue, salons, retail. We work after hours when staying open matters and we coordinate with the city on parking and signage.
